we met in Saigon, in the summer breeze
we lost ourselves, in its noisy streets
we jumped on a train, and headed north
got out halfway, in the rain and mud

it all started with this mysterious book
a treasure of poems, spells and koans
a map on which X marks the spot
so we went in search, to try our luck

we read all those old and strange tales
about a hill, in a land, green and still
about a river, and a small wooden boat
about hidden caves and a dark low voice
