ONE MORN

from MURDER CALL by DUFFHUES

/

about

I have been working on this song for many years. I have played it live, in various forms, but never recorded it before. I guess it's finished now, in a way. It's a song about a recurring topic of mine, that of the underworld and after life.

lyrics

ONE MORN

Eyes burn in the moonlight
A bright green fire
He whispers
Everything’s all right
In his hands golden trinkets
And many a diamond ring
He offers a life
Beyond the one within
He offers powers
That belong to gods and devils alone
His words are sweet as candy

One morn I awake
Where the moon always shines

His premonition
A world unknown
A world of many riches
Endless money and gold
The pyramids
Shine with precious stone
His house, the highest
Steep stairs to the top
The altar still warm with blood

One morn I awake
Where the moon always shines

Descending bowels
Lead you fast into deep earth
There’s a giant dome
A world beneath a world
He’s on the shore
Waiting by the boat
You pay him no silver
You pay him no gold
You pay him what’s yours
You pay flesh and bone
You pay him what’s yours
You pay flesh and bone

One morn I awake
Where the moon always shines
The bleak truth of fear and lies
